Jan: So now –

Jan: Dr. Keith, let’s talk a little bit about homeopathic remedies. We’re going to talk specifically about something you’re having an experience with, and so am I and a lot of people in and around the True Healthy Products family, if you will, are working with a fat release system, we call it, a new way to lose fat.  The process is using a homeopathic version of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG). The idea is to help people with obesity or wanting to just lose a few pounds, and whether you have 50 or ten pounds to lose, this is something that is actually working for people and you can testify to this, as we had you get on this program, and it’s actually producing a result. I don’t think you’re amazed by it because it kind of makes sense, right.

Dr. Keith: Absolutely.

Jan: There’s a science behind it.  So let’s just talk about homeopathy for a minute because I know that you’ve used that over the years in different things. So let’s talk about homeopathy in itself, and then let’s proceed to this method of homeopathic Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) administered for the fat release system.

Dr. Keith: You know, I’m on a couple of advisory boards.  I don’t think that makes me an expert, but I am entitled to a strong opinion on homeopathy.  I use it a lot and I see it in a diversity of forms. And it’s a very good way – there are various things you can do with homeopathy, you know.  You can take a special remedy and make it a homeopathic remedy but you can also take regular substances and turn those into a homeopathic version, if you like.  Allow me to touch upon the three bullet point definitions of homeopathy in case anyone doesn’t know.  First of all, it’s based upon what we call life treating life.  So you don’t look for a remedy that masks the problem or smothers it.  You look for something that mimics it or is like it so it’s sympathetic to it.  That’s what homo means, the same as, so homeopathy means the same feeling as, the same disease as, so that’s the first point.

Jan: Okay.

Dr. Keith: But the most important point is that you then do what’s call potentizing, so you dilute it successively, usually in series of ten or a series of a hundred.  So series of ten, you take one drop and add it to nine drops and you’ve got a ten times dilution. You take one drop of that, add another nine drops and so on down the sequence.  So, for example, if you were a D-12, that means on that number 10 series, but the 12th dilution, you see how that works.

Jan: Right.

Dr. Keith: We call that potentizing because strangely enough, it makes things stronger and it makes things more potent.  And this is what drives conventional thinkers and scientists and doctors crazy.  I mean, they just froth at the mouth.  They lose it.  Hey, they can’t work.  We know on the ten series, after the 12th dilution, you’ve gone past what’s called the Avogadro number or the Germans call it the Losknik number, but anyway, what it means effectively, you’ve diluted it so much, there’s not even one single molecule of the original substance left.

Jan: Right.

Dr. Keith: And so they say, therefore, it’s just stupid, it cannot work and you guys are just crazy or frauds.  But, of course, they’ve got the wrong model.  If it were just biochemical and biochemical stuff, you know, I could agree.  We know if you dilute something, it gets weaker and weaker.  But what happens if you keep diluting it.  What happens, in fact, is that it goes weaker then becomes stronger again, then weaker and then stronger again.  And almost all substances do that, you know. Have you heard of this thing called a memory of water?  That was a very controversial science study done in the 80′s but it showed basically the same thing.  A scientist in Paris, France, he studied this phenomenon and it went on sort of forever.  You know, he diluted it 120 times and it was still coming and going, you know, over a few dilutions.  So we don’t know what’s happening but we do know it’s not stuff.  You know, it’s not a biochemical process.  We’re not talking about a drug substance, it’s gone.

Jan: It’s gone.

Dr. Keith: But what we’re left with is the kind of signature, or the imprint, because let me tell you the third bullet of homeopathy is what we call succession, and that means you take the little, you know, the new mixture, you’ve diluted it ten times, it’s in a little bottle and you do this, several times, that kind of hammers the message, if you like, into the structure of the water, for this dilution, then you take some of that dilution, add it to plain water, do this again.  So this process we call succession is very important.  If you don’t do it, it doesn’t work.

Jan: Okay.

Dr. Keith: You just end up with diluted stuff.  But if you do this, you somehow transmit the signal to the next dilution and the next dilution so even if you’ve diluted it millions and billions and squillions of time, you’ve still got the signal of the original substance.

Jan: Right.

Dr. Keith: And what is remarkable and, you know, we’re not arguing with the fact that it’s gone, but we know from trial and experience that when you do this process, it makes it more powerful and it’s a bit of a mystery in nature, except that, you know, generally in biology, a little goes a long way, you know, less is more and all that.

Jan: Right.

Dr. Keith: Understand that’s the kind of holistic philosophy.  Conventional doctors think the opposite.  One pill didn’t work, so let’s give him two.  If that doesn’t work, give him four.

Jan: Yeah, right.

Dr. Keith: What a homeopath does is give a remedy and if the person is showing signs of making a recovery, they stop the treatment.  They don’t say, oh, this is working, take some more.  So a completely different philosophy.  And what we’re doing is, in fact, passing on some kind of energy or information signal.  But because the original substance is not there anymore, you don’t have all these problems of side effects and so it’s very safe.

Jan: Right.

Dr. Keith: You know, there are no – people don’t die of homeopathy in the way that they, you know, die of vioxyn, all these deadly substances that conventional doctors use, so it’s very safe, but very effective and it’s actually rather wonderful.

Jan: Okay.

Dr. Keith: So you can take anything, as I said.  You could take, for example, if somebody’s got pneumonia, you take pneumonia, dilute it, success it, dilute it and by the time you get to pneumonia 200, that’s probably a highly effective therapy.  You give it to the person, the swallow it, and hey, that tuberculosis starts to resolve.

Dr. Keith: Let me tell you something else important to go into the frame here because your people will probably think, well, it sounds good and off they go to Google and stuff and, you know, researching as it’s called, isn’t it?  They’re going to come across some people saying, oh, it’s all hooey, you know, we’ve done the scientific trials and the HCG doesn’t work.  Even, believe it or not, Dr. Andrew Weil, and Dr. Andrew Weil isn’t that alternatively inclined.  I think people misperceive him as, you know, a very alternative doctor and he isn’t really.  He tows the party line quite a lot and for example, his side says, oh, you know, all the studies show that it doesn’t make any difference, you can have HCG and such and such diet and the same diet and they work just the same.  He’s missed the point completely and so do all these people.  We know that.  We’re not even arguing that.  You know, you eat this much food, you’re going to lose this much weight, whether it’s with or without.  They missed the point, which is that taking HCG, you don’t feel hungry because you’re metabolizing your own tissues.

Jan: Right.

Dr. Keith: So you get to the end point without the suffering, so very important if anyone has ever come across those kinds of stories that you will put them in the right frame and understand – they’re wrong, basically.  It’s not that there isn’t a difference in how you lose weight, maybe not, but there’s a completely big difference in how you feel on the program and that’s what’s important.

Jan: Well, yeah, and I agree and there’s another component here, I think that people want results, you know.  And if you go on a just general diet and there are a gazillion ways to diet out there and some are ethical and some I feel are just really not appropriate because you’re kind of mistreating your body, but going onto a restricted diet with, using the HCG, you can lose a lot of weight quickly and we’re seeing, two, three, four pounds a day in certain days in the 23 or 40 day cycle.  If you’re on a general diet and you’re losing a pound a week maybe and you’re struggling and you’re feeling bad and you’re miserable.

Dr. Keith: Yeah.

Jan: So here you are and I’m using it too to test it and I’m not uncomfortable by any means.  I’ve got a whole lot less to lose than some people so it’s – I’m seeing the weight loss but I’m not miserable.

Jan: So I think people get discouraged because – I wouldn’t say that people shouldn’t exercise, but this is the type of diet, this particular format, you don’t need to.  Your body’s going to be burning an extra two, three, 4,000 calories a day by not – I do endorse exercising, but some people are not physically capable, and perhaps, experience pain trying to be mobile, which can be a catch 22, for those who are obese.

Dr. Keith: Right.

The HCG Maintenance Phase (also known as Phase 3 or the stabilization period of the HCG Diet) is the 3 week period after you finish your VLCD protocol of the HCG Diet – Fat Release System. There are a few simple rules you must follow: you must weigh yourself every day, you must remain within 5 pounds of your last taken weight (either above or below).

It is extremely important to eat enough protein on this phase; many people eat at least 100 grams of true protein (about 400 grams weighed raw). We want to be clear that this 3 week period is crucial to the success of the diet. We have revised and given more detail in our Phase 3 from the original Phase 3 given by Dr. Simeon, so that you can be successful and maintain your weight.
Overview of Phase 3:

Before we get to the list, read an excerpt from Pounds & Inches: When the three days of dieting after the last administration has been taken, the patients are told that they may now eat anything they please, except sugar and starch, provided they faithfully observe one simple rule. This rule is that they must have their own portable bathroom-scale always at hand, particularly while traveling. They must without fail weigh themselves every morning as they get out of bed, having first emptied their bladder. If they are in the habit of having breakfast in bed, they must weigh before breakfast.

It takes about 3 weeks before the weight reached at the end of the treatment becomes stable, i.e. does not show violent fluctuations after an occasional excess. During this period patients must realize that the so-called carbohydrates, that is sugar, rice, bread, potatoes, pastries etc, are by far the most dangerous. If no carbohydrates whatsoever are eaten, fats can be indulged in somewhat more liberally and even small quantities of alcohol, such as a glass of wine with meals, does no harm, but as soon as fats and starch are combined things are very liable to get out of hand. This has to be observed very carefully during the first 3 weeks after the treatment is ended otherwise disappointments are almost sure to occur.

One last item before we begin: The day that you give yourself your last dose of the orally administered human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) – Fat Release System, you count 72 hours (continuing on the VLCD for those 72 hours) from that moment and then you start the maintenance phase. That weight that you were the morning of your last dose is the weight that you use as a basis for your maintenance phase. Anything OVER five pounds from that weight calls for a steak day.

NOTE: The time period to begin this phase is not 3 days after your last taken dose of the HCG Diet – Fat Release System; it is 72 hours! (For example, if you administer your last dose of the HCG Diet – Fat Release System on Monday at 8 am, you will begin the maintenance phase on Thursday at 8 am.)

First thing when beginning the 3 week maintenance phase, make sure to increase your calories to at least 800-1400. Don’t try to continue the diet after the HCG is out of your system. Bear in mind, your weight will fluctuate the first week or two; this is normal. Do a steak day if you need to. The weight will eventually stabilize. Watch the starch and sugar religiously during the 3 weeks. Read labels. (Continue) eating organic food, if possible. Make sure that you are eating enough. Use healthy fats and dairy products to up your calorie intake, if necessary. Drink enough water.

This list is roughly arranged from lowest to highest carbohydrate counts, but all are non-starchy and generally low in carbohydrates. Exact carb count depends on serving size. Remember when counting carbs in vegetables that the fiber is not counted, and can be subtracted from the total.

* Sprouts (bean, alfalfa, etc.)

* Hearty Greens – collards, mustard greens, kale, etc.

* Herbs – parsley, cilantro, basil, rosemary, thyme, etc.

The main veggies to be avoided when reducing carbohydrates are the starchier vegetables:

Fruit is an area where some of the low carb diets part company, as some depend more upon glycemic index or glycemic load (South Beach, Zone), while others just look at total carbs (Atkins, Protein Power). Also, some diets (Atkins, South Beach) don’t allow fruit at all in the first phase. In general, your best bet fruits are these, but do check carb counts. These are sort of arranged by sugar content, taking volume and weight, into account. This is not an exhaustive list.

Good news: the fruits lowest in sugar are some of the highest in nutritional value, including antioxidants and other phytonutrients.

* Raspberries
* Blackberries

* Grapefruit
* Melons
* Apricots
* Plums
* Peaches
* Pears
* Guava
* Cherries
* Apples
* Papaya

Fruits fairly high in sugar:

* Grapes
* Tangerine
* Oranges
* Pineapple
* Kiwi

Fruits to be avoided in the maintenance phase:

* Bananas
* Dried Fruit
* Mango


Avoiding sugar simply means avoid cookies, cake, pie, candy, cupcakes, frosting, soft drinks, corn syrup, kool-aid, processed food, energy drinks, fruit juice, honey, yogurt, donuts, cookies, pudding, maple syrup, brownies, canned fruit in heavy syrup, ice cream, cool whip, boxed breakfast cereals, breakfast bars, granola – nothing with sugar.

Be sure to read food labels, check to see if sugar is added into a product before you buy it. Nearly every product in a can or box contains sugar in one of its many names. The first five ingredients listed on an item is the majority of the product, so be sure that sugar is not in the top five.

Avoiding starch means avoid cornstarch, white flour, wheat flour, any flour, pasta, any bread or bread product, breadsticks, bagels, hamburger and hotdog buns, crackers, tortillas, oatmeal, rice, polenta, peas, corn, lentils, pita bread, pretzels, corn chips, potato chips, yams, potatoes, pancakes, muffins, nearly all root vegetables, any breading on fish, chicken, or other protein, beans, grains, acorn squash, butternut squash, cereals, granola, cereal bars, popcorn, biscuits, corn bread, taco shells, croutons, rice cakes, Cream of Wheat, corn meal, and some nuts.

Most restaurants and fast food places add sugar to nearly every product, so be wary of eating out all the time. Other meats to watch out include deli meats, bacon, ham, prosciutto, sausage, and hotdogs.

Do not eat processed cheese (i.e. Velveeta), as it contains unnecessary sugars and starches. Try not to eat processed anything, for that matter.

Dr. Keith: There are things like hormone substances, which a person can take, and this is what we want to talk about.

Jan: Right.

Dr. Keith: Human chorionic gonadotropin has some amazing properties. It’s found mainly in women who are pregnant, you know, the HCG levels rise, but it’s present in women, anyway and it’s present in men incidentally.

Jan: Right.

Dr. Keith: Like most sex-related hormones, gender-related hormones, we all mix and match, you know. We’re not pure men and women aren’t pure women. There are chromosomal differences, but, you know, we have a bit of everything. Women have testosterone.

Jan: Right, exactly.

Dr. Keith: We have some human chorionic gonadotropin, but not very much, but it’s there, it’s natural in our bodies. So, as I say, it has a number of remarkable properties. It’s very supportive of pregnancy. It goes through a signaling process and it protects and preserves the part of the ovary that gives the pregnancy signal, the progesterone.
